Equity vs Equality Explained
The Left conflates words with ideas that do not go together to confuse people while advancing their agenda.
Equity means 'fair' and equality means 'equal.' Any disparity between the haves and the have-nots is deemed 'unfair' (inequity). This is wrong by definition. This linguistic shell game requires that we ignore behavior and choices and instead look only at outcomes with complete disregard for the disparity between revenue generating behavior (achievements) renamed 'privilege' and non-revenue generating behavior, and instead replace all behavior with 'systemic racism.' In the mind of the Left, if you are successful, it is because of systemic racism. If you are poor, it is because of systemic racism.
In every single case with the Left - behavior is removed from the equation and replaced with snapshots of outcomes without any regard to inputs. It is my observation that the goal of the Left is to achieve equalization of net worth.
2 = 2 + 0
2 = 1 + 1
2 = .5 + .5 + .5 + .5
These math equations are true. However, the individual numbers are not equal. This does not represent an inequity between the numbers. There is however a process whereby a division of the numbers needs to take place in order to increase the number of equal placeholders, or what the Left incorrectly describes as 'equity.'
Achievements are based on one's ability to capitalize on a SERIES of opportunities. The Left will mention things like 'opportunity hoarding' and other
While people are equal, there is a disparity in their behavior.
